"ye kya ho rha hai " -- What is going on? When was the last time you heard or made this statement?? Well, I am sure you must have heard it quite often from many people at many occasions. We do react this way quite often then we realize. You would feel this way while you are driving or standing in queue when some one cuts you off or while reading or watching news where there are stories of gross injustice done which sadly happen almost everyday. I am sure some of you did light a candle or in some other ways may have joined a protest. Some of us debate at home or hostels whether the students protesting against reservation are right or wrong. Watching a child working or begging feels wrong, coming back after a day's hard work to a home with no electricity feels wrong. Watching an animal dying on the road without any help feels wrong. What Israel is doing to people of Palestine is wrong or what China is doing in Tibet is wrong.
So many things are going wrong. Similar is the state in our college. There's frequent power failure(and given that these are the summer months, its at an all time high frequency).Imagine the plight of poor students, with exams at close quarters, how can one expect them 2 study, in such circumstances? I think this is happening because our college is proposed to be IIT . So BHU would have decided that our pain should increase because it is said "no pain , no gain" :) Whatever it is , it is wrong .
The trees near the Vishwanath Temple(VT in short) have been recently cut. First of all summer's here, and the authorities instead of planting more trees, are cutting the good old trees. and as such the no of trees in our college have dwindled. They were not just trees, like d buildings or the hostels, they were a part of the campus too. And i personally feel , that it is also wrong, and its an absolutely ridiculous and unthoughtful action.
I am afraid sometimes we can't even define what is right or wrong. And then a "What can I do" syndrome has taken over so strongly that we have become numb to even figure out if we are being wronged.
Also wrong and rights change from person to person. For example , for some drinking is right and for some it is wrong. Also "wrongs and rights" are imposed by the religion itself. For example in Hindu religion only(which is otherwise considered very liberal) there were many things in past it was "Sati Pratha" etc. And still there are many occasions that people say like do this otherwise Gods will get angry. Whatever it is , i think God has nothing to do with such stupid and childish things.
Also sometimes the concept of "I am right and you wrong" leads to the conflicts. For example , take Mahabharata , in which Pandavas said that they were correct and Kauravas said that they were correct and none agreed that anyone of them was wrong or not. And when we see that epic we know that it was Draupadi's mocking on Duryodhan that was seed of such a battle.
So what to do if you want to avoid such conflicts. Many of us would feel this way some times in their jobs where they cannot even tell their boss if something is wrong coz you work on their perception of what is right. Moreover, whomever you need more is always right. This mantra works in relationships as well.
But what to do ? Is there anyone who can be blamed for such a wrong things happening here and there. It doesn't mean that u shout at ur parents, friends and rest relatives, etc. This would leave you alone and that i think is a scary experience anyone would like to have .
Is it our parents that are to be blamed. Why? Because the values we grow up with are induced into us , are by our parents only. We do not get that much values induced into us so much from our education system as they do from our parents. Who used to tell us from time to time that you have to adjust or compromise. When we used to fight with someone or do complains that bully troubles us in a school parents give us the advice --- "Avoid " or used to say that don't bring such matters at home and sort it out in school only. And u should study and don't do such stupid things and other blah, blah.....
So what we learn from this --- avoid any trouble and adapt according to condition.
Also we can blame our system as well where rich have the right to do whatever they want and poor people see it happening. I mean "might is right" .
What we are good at is-- blaming others where they are wrong at or what was wrong thing done by that person . We don't see what wrong we are doing. Whenever anything wrong happens we think that in which way it can affect us.The best we do, is only show grief or make a comment in favor of victim. we should keep in mind that it may be next turn to us.
Though I am part of the herd, but still I would blame myself for whatever wrong system does to me.
Sometimes to find out something right , we just need is to think what's wrong going on?
